Sitting Here

I have been sitting here looking at this blank LiveJournal window just procrastinating, thinking "I have to add an entry....." I know it's been a while, and I do have good intentions of writing in here.

Well as of July 15th, I am now on Summer Vacation until August 28th. I have ben very busy planning my Thailand trip. Yong Gun and I will be leaving for Phuket and Bangkok on July 30th, and returning on August 6th. The resort/spa that I placed an online reservation for is called the Diamond Resort and Spa (http://www.diamondcottage.com). I have tried to get a pool-side room with a king or queen size bed.

As for what we will do in Phuket. We will schedule from tours, ranging from snorkeling (possibly Ko Phi Phi, where "The Beach" was filmed), eco treks on elephants through the jungle and mountains, white water rafting, and kayaking around islands (similar to "Survivor - Thailand"). I don't anticipate too many expenses to be held back on this trip. Gun will also do a lot of shopping, myself likewise. I am calling this trip our first "honeymoon."

As for everything else. I have been working at a summer camp. At least it's money...and since the vacation break is long, I don't making some easy money.

Last Thursday, the Canadian Consulate called me and said "We have your new passport ready, but we are closing in 11 minutes." Their office is about an hour drive from my home, so I told them it was an emergency for this passport. They agreed to stay in their office until 6:00 p.m. and wait for me. I quickly drove down, and picked up the passport. Then I drove to Korean Immigration, and arrived at 4:24 p.m. only to learn I had no money on me to pay for the Visa extension and Re-Entry permit. They allowed me to run to the bank and return. Immigration closed their doors at 4:30 p.m. but allowed me to stay inside due to the urgent nature of my passport and renewal process. They told me I could pick up the passport in 2 weeks....which I don't have. I asked if I could pick it up in 7 days, and they said it would be ok...just in my case. That was nice.

So everything is set right now....pick up passport on Friday, pack on Friday, meet Gun on Friday, go to bed, wake up at 4:30 a.m. and catch a 7:00 a.m. flight to Incheon (Seoul) and then a flight to Bangkok, and then a flight to Phuket. It's going to be a long day.

Lucky is doing well. She will be off to the Cat Hotel this Friday afternoon while I am away on my "abroad" vacation. The Cat Hotel costs 30,000 won ($30 USD) per night, but I got a discount down to $10 per night (food not included).

It has been very hot in Pusan. Gun was here on the weekend, and we did some shopping. He told me "I did not need to buy anything, but I buy many things." Cute...I said "It's your gay-gene. You can't stop buying a good deal." I bought a new top, and then two more later on (Abercrombie tees for just $5....authentic, but "western" sizes so they don't fit Koreans). Gun bought 2 pairs of sunglasses, 2 tops, 3 pairs of socks (me too....we bought matching socks). I also gave him a pair of shorts I bought for him, and a new sidebag. It really is true....DINKS...Dual Income, No KidS.
